News and views on what matters to me: mindfulness, leadership, public relations, marketing, social media, pop culture and every now and then I will surprise you with something else.
The military as well as many support organizations are celebrating April as the month of the military child. When thinking about supporting the troops the initial inclination is to think about those serving. While there are many support programs for families and spouses, the average person can easily forget about military children and what they are going through.
Those serving can experience a great deal of hardships and some of them may translate to those that are directly supporting them such as their spouses and children. The entire military community is getting involved in the military child month, installations and other support organizations will sponsor activities and events for Service members’ children.
I wanted to shed light on one particular organization that never backs down from providing support to those serving. Soldiers Angels, a non for profit organization is doing quite a bit to support this initiative.
To learn about how Soldier’s Angels is supporting this effort visit this special section of their web page: http://soldiersangels.org/index.php?mact=News,cntnt01,detail,0&cntnt01articleid=528&cntnt01returnid=15
Another organization started by military teens is a great resource for military children and the challenges that are unique to their community. Visit Sisterhoold of the Traveling BDUs to learn more about their upcoming conference and the great work that they do: http://www.sisterhoodbdus.org/
