News and views on what matters to me: mindfulness, leadership, public relations, marketing, social media, pop culture and every now and then I will surprise you with something else.

Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, right? Social media platforms are starting to really take that approach to heart, especially with the latest Instagram vs SnapChat news, bringing this point as one for some great discussion in social media circles.  Hashtags used to confuse Facebook audiences, but now, they are becoming the norm.

With all this “borrowing” happening across platforms, it brings good and bad news for brands. Does this make life easier and more integrated, or is all the copying making the social platforms less likely to truly innovate and push the boundaries, especially of early adapter audiences and consumers?

Good for integration, bad for innovation… what do you think?
